Discover the world’s most visited websites with the most traffic, pages per visit, and average visit duration.
According to the Digital 2025 report prepared by We Are Social using Similar web data collected between September 1 and November 30, 2024, Google remains the most visited website on the planet. According to this report, the top 10 most popular websites on the internet are:
- Google.com
- YouTube.com
- Facebook.com
- Instagram.com
- WhatsApp.com
- X.com (formerly Twitter)
- Wikipedia.org
- Chatgpt.com
- Reddit.com
- Yahoo.com
However, we can draw much more conclusions from this list if we extend it to the 20 most popular websites. In this case, we find:
Comparing the top 4 with the previous edition, we see that the top 4 remain unchanged, with the positions of Google, YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram. The only new entrants in the top 10 are ChatGPT and Reddit, which are in 8th and 9th place, respectively, leaving Yandex (12th) and Baidu (14th) behind. Both cases are remarkable, as ChatGPT didn’t seem in the top 20 in the preceding edition, and Reddit was ranked 19th.
In 2021, Yandex, the Russian Google, entered the top 10, ranking ninth. In the 2022 ranking, it did not rank among the top 20 most visited sites, perhaps due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. In 2023, the platform returned to the top 10, ranking ninth. But this year, it has fallen to twelfth place.
It’s also clear that pornographic sites have lost their relevance in the top 20: Pornhub has fallen from 12th to 19th place, while Xvideos has disappeared from the ranking (in the previous edition, it was eleventh).
For comparison, here is last year’s ranking (2024) of the sites with the most extraordinary visits worldwide:
Social networks at the top of the most visited pages in the world
The report shows that the average time internet operators spent browsing Google was 10 minutes and 52 seconds (7 instants more than in 2023), totalling 83 billion views. YouTube, for its part, captured the attention of its users for an average of 20 minutes and 7 seconds (only 2 seconds less than the previous year).
Facebook recorded 12.3 billion visits, with an average stay of 10 minutes and 53 seconds on the site. The social network is again capturing users’ attention, an upward trend it regained in the previous edition after two years of decline.
Instagram recorded an average visit time of 8 minutes and 38 seconds (27 seconds, additional than in 2023). WhatsApp moved up from tenth to fifth place, recording an average stay of 15 minutes and 10 seconds (37 seconds fewer than in 2023) and reaching 4.55 billion total visits. For its part, X moved up from fifth to sixth place and recorded an average time per visit of 12 minutes and 17 seconds (1 minute and 37 seconds more than in the previous edition).

In contrast, “Facebook” dropped one place, as did “translate” and “Amazon.” Finally, “WhatsApp Web” fell from eleventh place (where it had held for two consecutive years) to eighth, and “News” retained its tenth position. Conclusion
By 2025, the world’s most visited websites will continue to be dominated by search engines, social media platforms, video streaming services, and AI-powered tools. Google, YouTube, and Facebook remain at the top, reflecting users’ reliance on search, video content, and social media. At the same time, AI-powered platforms like ChatGPT.com have gained popularity, highlighting the growing interest in artificial intelligence.
User interaction, technological advancements, and new digital trends influence rankings. As the internet evolves, new platforms may disrupt the current hierarchy, but the fundamental need for information, entertainment, and communication will continue to shape online behaviour.
